Boho Boto {Bohemian Botanicals} was founded in 2014 by Herbalista Ry. Boho Boto is a micro-batch apothecary offering bioregional, organic and sustainably wild harvested high quality herbal + mushroom extracts {tinctures} tonics, skin care, chais + more. Based in the fertile Willamette Valley of Cottage Grove, Oregon, Traditional Territory of the Kalapuya. I grow and forage the majority of the plants and mushrooms in my products {about 75%}. I consciously source the remaining 25% or so herbs from organic local businesses.

Grown organically or sustainably + consciously wild harvested. Plants and Mushrooms are harvested at their peak concentration of beneficial plant compounds. I utilize the knowledge of ancient wisdom, current herbal practices as well as modern science for gathering and medicine making. Products are made in micro batches by me and are always whole plant, whole mushroom, never isolated phytochemicals. Just as mama nature intended. Effective, easy to use + easy to assimilate.

Extracts {Tinctures} ~ Fresh or dried herbs or mushrooms are harvested, processed, chopped and steeped in a specific percentage of organic cane alcohol and spring water for one moon cycle {one month}. I tincture using the best extraction method for each particular plant or mushroom. This sometimes involves performing a dual extract, sometimes includes gentle heat and sometimes a more straight forward alcohol and water extract. Alcohol is the best solvent for extracting the widest range of plant compounds and constituents. Extracts are full spectrum, meaning the natural ratios of the constituents are in tact and have not been isolated or removed. The whole plant or whole fruiting body of mushroom is utilized. Alcohol extracts have the best shelf life, which under the right storage conditions could be up to 100 years! I wouldn’t recommend this but, 50-100 year old tinctures have been tested and their constituents proved viable still!!

Salves ~ Fresh or dried herbs are chopped, slowly steeped in warmed oil, then strained. Infused herbal oil is then blended with local beeswax in specific ratios. Small amounts of safe dilutions of .5 – 3% essential oils are occasionally added to enhance scent, naturally preserve and provide additional benefits.

Skin Cream ~ Dried herbs are chopped, slowly steeped in warmed oil, then strained. Oils and butters are gently heated and then carefully blended with ingredients such as aloe vera gel and floral hydrosols. Small amounts of safe dilutions of .5 – 3% essential oils are added to enhance scent and to naturally preserve. 100% pure natural cream with no chemical emulsifiers.
